Visit to Bangkok, Thailand, for the 40th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

Speaker of Parliament Mr Tan Chuan-Jin led a delegation of 12 Members of Parliament (MPs) to attend the 40th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Bangkok, Thailand, from 25 to 30 August 2019. The theme of the General Assembly was “Advancing Parliamentary Partnership for Sustainable Community”.

The trip to Bangkok also marked Speaker Tan’s first Official Visit to Thailand, where he called on Thai Prime Minister Mr Prayut Chan-o-cha, President of the National Assembly of Thailand and Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr Chuan Leekpai, and President of the Senate Mr Pornpetch Wichitcholchai.
