Meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Mr Jeremy Hunt

UK Foreign Secretary Mr Jeremy Hunt visited Parliament House today as part of his official visit to Singapore.

He had a meaningful meeting with Deputy Speaker Mr Charles Chong, Senior Minister of State for Transport, and for Communications and Information Dr Janil Puthucheary and Senior Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministers for Home Affairs & National Development Ms Sun Xueling. Amongst the issues discussed were the challenges brought on by deliberate online falsehoods. Mr Chong had chaired the Select Committee on Deliberate Online Falsehoods last year, and Dr Janil and Ms Sun were members of the Select Committee.

Singapore and the UK enjoy close historical ties and continue to engage in broad-based cooperation.
